Rainforest Cafe

Well done to Year 4, who successfully ran their ‘pop up’ café, selling smoothies made from a variety of fruits. Thank you to all the parents and carers that were able to attend and support the event, it was an exciting conclusion to a very enjoyable unit of work. The unit included work inspired by the visit from the urban farm, debates about deforestation and other environmental issues related to rainforests and creating recipes using fruits from the rainforest. Below are some comments from the children about what they enjoyed the most.

Sophie ‘I really enjoyed the debate, when we pretended to be farmers, pharmaceutical companies or members of a local tribe and had to give reasons to destroy or protect the rainforest.’

Ali ‘ I really enjoyed choosing an animal to research on the computer and write a fact file about for the class information book.’ (Ms Walker)

During a term that is much shorter than the last, we have many achievements to be proud of and more to anticipate over the rest of the academic year.
