End of each full term arrangements – Christmas, Easter and summer

In response to informal requests from parents over time, and in order to help us with preparation at the end of each term, the school day will finish at 1.30pm at the end of each full term. Please ensure you have made adequate arrangements for this. The after school club will be available for those who attend regularly and if you need to book a place please allow as much advance warning as possible.

We are hoping that for many families the possibility of “getting on the road” before rush hour at the end of term will help to alleviate pressures. However, if we notice that children are not attending on the final day of each term then we will review this arrangement. The final half day will be fully productive with normal lessons taking place. I do hope we can make this new arrangement work.

After a lovely summer break it was great to see our children returning today for a fresh start to the new academic year. Whilst our youngest children are at the start of their new school lives, it was also pleasing to learn about those who left us in July and the positive start they are making at their respective high schools. So, we wish them well and now welcome our Nursery and Reception children to what I hope will be a happy, successful and rewarding time at Montpelier. For the children who have returned for a new school year, this is a good time to set their sights on being as ambitious as possible during a year of interesting and active opportunities.
