I would like to encourage parents and carers who are both new to the school and those who have children in years one to four to lend more support to the PTA. The number of parents who actively support PTA events needs to remain high or there will be a knock on effect in terms of what we are able to do for our children in school. Our curriculum offering, in a state school setting, is second to none. To support our curriculum to be inclusive, rewarding, successful and fun requires PTA funding. It is our mission to ensure that children have the best possible educational experience whilst at Montpelier School. Your help is of value to every child – to pay for those who can’t afford to go on a trip, to Shakespeare workshops, to book weeks, to science events, to performances and sports events. The extra quality comes from funds raised by PTA events. We have a highly effective, hardworking and inclusive committee that wants to start to expand those who are involved over this year. Please come to the first meeting of the year once the date has been confirmed. In the meantime, take a look at http://montpelierpta.org.uk/fundraising/

After a lovely summer break it was great to see our children returning today for a fresh start to the new academic year. Whilst our youngest children are at the start of their new school lives, it was also pleasing to learn about those who left us in July and the positive start they are making at their respective high schools. So, we wish them well and now welcome our Nursery and Reception children to what I hope will be a happy, successful and rewarding time at Montpelier. For the children who have returned for a new school year, this is a good time to set their sights on being as ambitious as possible during a year of interesting and active opportunities.
