End of the day telephone and email messages

Please do not call the school after midday about changed collection arrangements for your child, other than in an extreme emergency. Giving us a message in the afternoon, normally after 2.30pm, causes difficulty as we cannot always easily track down a class or a message may get lost in transit. Collection arrangements should be made earlier in the day – preferably even before that. Even if you call in the afternoon, it is possible your child may be sent to the after school club where a charge is applicable. Last year, the front desk had the distinct feel of a “childminding and messaging service” about it. This is not a role the school can perform without disruption being caused elsewhere. Our focus should always be children’s learning.

After a busy summer break at Montpelier, the new academic year has started brightly and positively. We welcomed new parents, staff and children, most notably in the Reception and Nursery classes where many families have started a journey through school life that will hopefully be fruitful, invigorating and successful. There have been a number of changes in the school building, all aimed at further enhancing what is already a bright and stimulating learning environment. As always, we start the school year with the singular focus of endeavouring to ensure our children experience the best education possible, underpinned by academic, personal and emotional development.
